The Exorcist: Yixiao & The Mage: Ekon

The Exorcist: Yixiao meaning Joyful and carefree. She is a character inspired from the Chinese culture, she uses music as her main source of power to exorcist spirits, her primary weapon is a combination of 2 chinese instruments the Pipa and a Guqin. She also uses talismans to damage his opponent. She is a carefree, smart, young and talented character.

The Mage: Ekon is a character that utilizes runes to control a powerful book and uses it's magical pages to make high-powered attacks to the opponent in different combos, he can also use the book as a melee weapon. He is an incredible intelligent person but also a serious one.

With this project I wanted to create a character that fits a fighting game. I was mostly inspired on the games 2XKO and Guilty Gear Strive.
I think that Yixiao can be a good addition to a fighting game. I wanted her to be an easy difficultly character to use, so is beginner friendly and lots of people have fun playing her, and Ekon would be a medium difficultly character to use.
I wanted to thank the people at LuxArk and their mentorship for helping me do this design and making her look amazing. Specially Evelien Picavet and Austin Boone for being my mentors in this project.
While doing this project I had a really fun time and learned a lot about anatomy, character design, color theory and communication.
